Samenvatting

Een enkelprothese wordt minder vaak geïmplanteerd dan een knieprothese. Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft wie voor een enkelprothese in aanmerking kunnen komen, wat voor typen enkelprothesen er bestaan, of men ermee kan sporten en welke complicaties kunnen optreden tijdens en na de operatie. Ten slotte wordt een artrodesebehandeling vergeleken met implantatie van een totale enkelprothese. Wat zijn de voor- en nadelen?
