Abstract
After the introduction and spreading of knowledge that autism, as well as schizophrenia, constitute a spectrum of conditions, and that autism spectrum disorders are relevant and not extremely uncommon in adults of normal intelligence, the issue of comorbidity versus differential diagnosis relating to schizophrenia has once again become of interest, now also to adult psychiatry. This chapter highlights the issue from a perspective of long clinical experience of both disorders, sometimes in the same individual, in adults.
