Inleiding

Het lichamelijk onderzoek heeft als doel factoren in kaart te brengen die van invloed zijn op de specifieke klacht. Deze factoren kunnen gaan over oorzaak, mate van klachten en prognostisch belemmerende factoren.

Nutatie= vooroverkanteling van het sacrum; contranutatie= achteroverkanteling van het sacrum.
De termen inflair en outflair worden in deze context ook gebruikt, waarbij de beweging van de bekkengordel wordt beschreven om een schuine bewegingsas, die vanaf de symfyse (ventraal) naar het lig. interosseum van het SI-gewricht (dorsaal) loopt; elk SI-gewricht heeft dus een eigen bewegingsas.
Inflair= adductie en vooroverkanteling van het ilium met enige endorotatie; outflair= abductie en achteroverkanteling van het ilium met enige exorotatie.

Bij extreme pijnreacties kan medicatie uit de benzodiazepinegroep worden voorgeschreven door de huisarts (diazepam, oxazepam, lorazepam). Deze medicatie werkt goed bij deze uit spieren afkomstige pijn. Het gebruik hiervan moet echter wel goed begeleid en gedoseerd worden door de huisarts vanwege het verslavende karakter van deze medicatie.
