Leegte als betekenis en als concept

Samenvatting

In dit artikel sta ik eerst stil bij enkele betekenissen van de term leegte: leegte als subjectieve ervaring, leegte als (diagnostische) constatering, leegte in een existentiële zin en leegte in een spirituele zin. Vervolgens ga ik in op enkele verklaringsmodellen voor het verschijnsel leegte. Deze beschouwing mondt uit in een kort overzicht van de wijsgerige bemoeienis met de leegte. Het artikel besluit met een aanzet tot een conceptueel raamwerk van het verschijnsel leegte zoals we dat in de psychiatrische en psychotherapeutische praktijk tegenkomen.
