Everyday Desistance: The Transition to Adulthood Among Formerly Incarcerated Youth, written by Laura S. Abrams and Diane J. Terry, looks at what happens when a juvenile offender transitions from a juvenile into an adult. The authors explain the importance of this transition for all juveniles and begin to discuss other implications and stressors that are added when a juvenile is a criminal offender. They also examine how some key factors may affect different juveniles in various ways, such as their gender or socio-economic status.
