35. Lage rugpijn (aspecifieke)

Samenvatting beleid

Bij klachten van lage rugpijn is het aan te raden eerst onderzoek te doen naar specifieke oorzaken. Als die zijn uitgesloten kunnen de algemeen geldende adviezen bij lage rugpijn worden gegeven: adequate voorlichting over de prognose en het advies actief te blijven en te blijven bewegen. Uitvoerige voorlichting en tips over lage rugpijn zijn te vinden op www.​thuisarts/​pijn-onderin-rug.​ Indien de pijn hevig is, is er in de beginfase vaak behoefte aan pijnstilling. Indien de algemene adviezen onvoldoende helpen en klachten langer gaan duren, kan ondersteuning worden overwogen door middel van oefentherapie. Als mensen zelf voelen voor yoga of pilates dan kan dat ondersteund worden door de arts. Deze maar ook de andere interventies moeten vooral gezien worden in het licht van een activerende aanpak en ze zijn tevens gericht op het wegnemen van onjuiste cognities en bewegingsangst. Van andere behandelingen en medicamenten is het nuttig effect niet aangetoond.
