Samenvatting

In principe wordt altijd gestreefd naar reparatie van de eigen hartklep, omdat de mortaliteit en de morbiditeit na reparatie van de eigen klep geringer zijn. Vaak is (bijvoorbeeld door uitgebreide verkalkingen) de hartchirurg toch genoodzaakt een kunstklep te implanteren.
