Kosteneffectiviteit van jeugdinterventies in Nederland: een systematische literatuurreview

Samenvatting

Hoewel de kennis over de effectiviteit van interventies in het jeugddomein aanzienlijk is, lijkt de kennis over hun kosteneffectiviteit beperkt. Een systematische literatuurreview naar economische evaluatiestudies is uitgevoerd om de huidige kennis over de kosteneffectiviteit van jeugdinterventies in Nederland in kaart te brengen. Achttien economische evaluatiestudies, gericht op verschillende onderzoekspopulaties en typen interventies, zijn gevonden. Acht onderzochte interventies lijken kosteneffectief te zijn, zoals het kindinterview in het onderzoek naar kindermishandeling, cognitieve gedragstherapie via internet bij insomnia en korte counseling bij seksuele problemen. In enkele van deze acht studies was er wel aanzienlijke onzekerheid over de kosteneffectiviteit, zoals over het programma Denken + Doen = Durven tegen angst bij autisme. De huidige kennis over de kosteneffectiviteit van jeugdinterventies is beperkt, terwijl effectiviteitsstudies vaak worden uitgevoerd. Er zijn relatief weinig extra (financiële) investeringen nodig om een economische evaluatie parallel aan een effectiviteitsstudie uit te voeren, hetgeen daarom sterk geadviseerd wordt.
