4. Klinisch redeneren bij pijnpatiënten: van diagnostiek tot behandeling aan de hand van een casus

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk illustreert het klinisch redeneren op basis van de actuele pijnneurowetenschappelijke inzichten bij een patiënt met chronische nekpijn. De patiënte betreft een vrij typische chronische pijnpatiënt – veel van de kenmerken die ze vertoont alsook de uiteindelijke behandeling en doorgemaakte ontwikkeling vinden we terug bij andere chronische pijnpatiënten, in het bijzonder wanneer centrale sensitisatie het dominante pijnmechanisme is. De volledige weergave van de klinische redenering in dit hoofdstuk kan als modelvoorbeeld dienen voor clinici om de eigen klinische redenering tot en met het uitvoeren en bijsturen van de behandeling te optimaliseren/actualiseren.
