13. Klinimetrie bij volwassenen

Samenvatting

Meetinstrumenten kunnen gebruikt worden om de verschillende biopsychosociale factoren die bijdragen aan het ontstaan of in stand houden van chronische pijn zo goed mogelijk in kaart te brengen. De uitkomsten van meetinstrumenten dragen niet alleen bij aan een goede communicatie tussen patiënt en behandelteam, maar ook aan de communicatie tussen de behandelaars onderling. Impliciete aannames of gedachten worden zichtbaar gemaakt. Dit leidt tot een transparante analyse van het pijnprobleem en maakt keuzes voor een bepaald behandelbeleid inzichtelijk. Er bestaan veel soorten meetinstrumenten die ingezet kunnen worden op het gebied van diagnostiek, het bepalen van een prognose voor wat betreft het behandelsucces en ter evaluatie van behandelresultaten. Bij het kiezen van een meetinstrument is het steeds van belang dat eerst de vraag gesteld wordt wat men wil weten en met welk doel. In dit hoofdstuk wordt ingegaan op geschikte meetinstrumenten die inzetbaar zijn bij volwassen patiënten met chronische pijn.
