2. Kerndomein van ergotherapie

Samenvatting

Het kerndomein van ergotherapie is het dagelijks handelen van mensen. Het dagelijks handelen gaat over de dingen die je doet: alleen of samen, omdat iets leuk is om te doen of omdat het van je verwacht wordt. Het dagelijks handelen is onderdeel van taken en rollen die mensen vervullen in de samenleving. Kijk je specifieker naar het dagelijks handelen, dan gaat het om activiteiten die door personen in een bepaalde context worden uitgevoerd en waaraan een betekenis wordt gegeven. Activiteiten kunnen worden ingedeeld op basis van het type activiteit, de betekenis ervan of de beleving die mensen hebben tijdens de uitvoering. Het uitvoeren van activiteiten geeft betekenis aan het leven, sociale relaties en gemeenschappen. Dit maakt dat het dagelijks handelen een krachtig middel is voor verandering of ontwikkeling, alleen of met elkaar. De wetenschap die het dagelijks handelen bestudeert, is Occupational Science en is onder andere gericht op veranderingen op individueel en maatschappelijk niveau.
