12 Juveniele idiopathische artritis

Samenvatting

Juveniele idiopathische artritis (JIA) is de meest voorkomende vorm van chronische reumatische aandoeningen bij kinderen. JIA is niet één enkele ziekte, maar een overkoepelende term die alle vormen van artritis omvangt die beginnen op de kinderleeftijd (vóór het 16e levensjaar), langer duren dan 6 weken, waarvan het ontstaan onbekend is en waarbij alle andere bekende aandoeningen geëxcludeerd zijn (Petty et al., 2004).
