Abstract

Met behulp van cholesterolverlagende voedingsmiddelen kunnen aanzienlijke dalingen van low density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol worden verkregen. In een studie met extra plantensterolen (1 g/1000 kcal), soja-eiwit (21,4 g/1000 kcal), amandelen (14 g/1000 kcal) en oplosbare vezels (10 g/100 kcal) kon een LDL-cholesteroldaling van ongeveer 30% worden bereikt (1).
