Is de combinatie van MMPI- en Rorschach-gegevens van nut voor psychoanalytische indicatiestelling?

Samenvatting

Bij 115 personen die zich hadden aangemeld voor langdurige psychoanalytische behandeling is nagegaan of het combineren van gegevens uit de Rorschach en Minnesota multiphasic personality inventory (MMPI-2) tot meer hanteerbare indicatiecriteria zou leiden. Die vraag is onderzocht met behulp van clusteranalyse en factoranalyse (PCA). De twee methoden gaven aan dat datareductie leidde tot samengestelde factoren binnen hetzelfde instrument. PCA onderscheidde bij beide instrumenten één factor en daarnaast één samengestelde factor. De factoren werden op basis van de schaal- en variabelebeschrijvingen gelabeld als ‘Psychopathologie volgens de MMPI-2’, ‘Coping volgens Rorschach’ en de gecombineerde factor ‘Reflectiviteit’. Patiënten met het advies psychoanalyse verschilden niet significant op ‘Psychopathologie volgens de MMPI-2’ en ‘Coping volgens Rorschach’, maar scoorden gemiddeld hoger op ‘Reflectiviteit’ dan patiënten met het advies psychoanalytische psychotherapie.
