Public health policy makers, researchers and professionals are for years engaged in Health in all Policies (HiAP) and knowledgetransfer ( KT ) in the triangle policy - research - practice . HiAP and KT are broad and complex concepts, making the development and the implementation not always easy. That certainly applies to the monitoring and evaluation. ZonMw therefore finances the Consortium ‘instruments for integrated action’ (i4i). The consortium will examine why the practice of HiAP and KT is so complex and develop research tools that can help to get more grip on these processes and practices. By developing the right tools, and the generation of new knowledge, it is possible to monitor these complex processes in a better way. Municipalities, Municipal Health Services and Academic Collaborative Centres Public Health are thus better supported. This Spectrum- edition first the participants of the consortium explain what the plans are, and what has been achieved so far. This is followed by short reflections on these plans from three perspectives: Erik Hans Klijn gives a governance response, Gerard Molleman and Moniek Pieters respond from the Municipal Health Service perspective, and Annelies Acda responds from the daily practice perspective . …
