Inschatten van het risico op kindermishandeling bij aanvang van gezinsinterventies: De predictieve validiteit van de Nederlandse versie van de California Family Risk Assessment (CFRA)

Samenvatting

Het doel van dit onderzoek was de predictieve validiteit van de California Family Risk Assessment (CFRA) in Nederland te onderzoeken. Daarnaast werd onderzocht of de predictieve validiteit kon worden verbeterd door (a) alleen risicofactoren op te nemen die daadwerkelijk een voorspellende waarde hebben voor toekomstige meldingen van kindermishandeling en (b) experimentele items toe te voegen.
De onderzoeksgroep bestond uit 491 gezinnen die vanwege opgroei- of opvoedproblemen waren doorverwezen door de Centra voor Jeugd en Gezin naar intensieve gezinsbegeleiding. De predictieve validiteit van de oorspronkelijke CFRA voor het voorspellen van toekomstige meldingen kindermishandeling bleek matig (AUC = 0,69). De predictieve validiteit kon worden verhoogd (AUC = 0,80) door alleen CFRA-items en experimentele items met voorspellende waarde te selecteren. Deze nieuwe set items lijkt een waardevol instrument te vormen, maar het is belangrijk de psychometrische kenmerken van deze set verder te bepalen in aanvullend onderzoek.
