Samenvatting

Kwantitatief onderzoek gaat over het verzamelen van numerieke data om daar vervolgens letterlijk mee te gaan rekenen. Er zijn twee soorten kwantitatief onderzoek te onderscheiden, namelijk (quasi) experimenteel en observationeel onderzoek. In dit inleidende hoofdstuk schetsen we de waarde van dit onderzoek voor de verpleegkundige zorg en lichten we kwantitatief onderzoek op hoofdlijnen toe. In de vervolghoofdstukken van dit deel worden de meest voorkomende designs van kwantitatief onderzoek nader toegelicht.
