Samenvatting

De inleiding van dit boek beschrijft de geschiedenis van de totale knieprothese alsook de verschillende typen die op dit moment worden gebruikt. Verder wordt duidelijk dat de behandelaar en de patiënt hun doelen op elkaar moeten afstemmen, opdat de prothese uiteindelijk voldoet aan beider verwachtingen. De enkelprothese wordt in dit hoofdstuk niet besproken. Informatie hierover is te vinden in H. 14 en 15.
