Samenvatting

Meting van de bloeddruk is van belang ter opsporing van hypertensie, hypotensie en orthostatische hypotensie en ter controle van de bloeddruk na instellen van een behandeling. De techniek van bloeddrukmeting bij oudere patiënten (> 65 jaar) verschilt niet wezenlijk van de adviezen zoals die nationaal en internationaal in de consensus diagnostiek en behandeling van hypertensie zijn weergegeven 1, 2.
