Samenvatting

Naast esthetische problemen kan tandverlies leiden tot verminderde kauwmogelijkheden en compensatoire overbelasting van kaak- en kauwspieren. Implantologie is momenteel de eerstekeus behandeling geworden voor de vervanging van verloren tanden.
Na een korte introductie en uitleg over klassieke en immediate procedures worden de mogelijkheden besproken bij tekorten aan bot en/of weke delen. Ook zullen we de moderne ontwikkelingen binnen de implantologie toelichten.
