2. Houding in bed en in de rolstoel in het eerste stadium

Abstract

Voor een patiënt die buiten bewustzijn is of nog niet in staat om zich actief te bewegen, is het van essentieel belang dat hij altijd in een goede houding wordt gelegd en dat de houding regelmatig veranderd wordt. Er dient een routine te worden ingesteld waarbij hij tijdens de eerste stadia elke twee à drie uur gedraaid wordt, zoals Bromley (1976) voorschrijft voor de behandeling van patiënten met een paraplegic of een tetraplegie van spinale oorsprong. Dit routinematige draaien moet worden volgehouden totdat de patiënt weer bij bewustzijn komt en in staat is om zelf om te draaien.
