Samenvatting

De documentaire Alicia heeft heel wat losgemaakt. De transitie heeft blijkbaar een aantal ouderroutes in de jeugdzorg nog niet verbeterd.

Peer van de Helm, lector aan de Hogeschool Leiden, vat zijn lectorale rede van november 2017 samen in dit artikel. Hij noemt daarin drie weeffouten in het jeugdstelsel: 1. het gemis aan focus op intergenerationele problematiek, 2. de verkokerde, weinig samenhangende behandelvisie en werkwijze en lineair denken in de jeugdhulp, en 3. de huidige organisatie van de jeugdzorg, gekoppeld aan de financiering. Met wat politieke wil is volgens de auteur aan al deze drie zaken wat te doen als de inhoud (huidige wetenschappelijke kennis) en het doel (geen kinderen meer uitsluiten en verloren laten gaan) boven het kortetermijndenken, de ideologie, de bestaande structuren en het geld worden gesteld.
