Hoofdstuk 7 Bruikbaarheid van vragenlijsten in de klinische praktijk: de Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire

Samenvatting

De Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (rmdq) is een veelgebruikte vragenlijst om op individueel en groepsniveau het effect van een fysiotherapeutische behandeling te bepalen bij patiënten met chronische lage-rugpijn (clrp). Om de bruikbaarheid van de rmdq op individueel niveau te bepalen is de stabiliteit onderzocht. Dertig clrp-patiënten namen deel aan het onderzoek en vulden de rmdq tweemaal in met een tussenperiode van twee weken. Er bleek een natuurlijke ruis van ± 5,4 punten op de rmdq te zijn. Voor de klinische praktijk betekent dit dat een patiënt ten minste 6 punten moet verbeteren op de rmdq om te kunnen spreken van een relevante verandering. Dit leidt bij patiënten met een beginscore < 6 en bij patiënten met een behandeleffect van < 6 tot problemen bij de interpretatie van de rmdq. Het gebruik van specifieke vragenlijsten en/of vragenlijsten met meer antwoordcategorieën zijn daarom op individueel niveau bij patiënten met chronische lage-rugklachten mogelijk beter te gebruiken.
