Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk komen de patronen aan de orde waarbij de emotionele beleving van het lichaam verminderd of ontkoppeld is. In de klinische praktijk komt dit voor bij alexithymie, depersonalisatie en somatoforme dissociatie. Het lichaam wordt om verschillende redenen niet ‘gevoeld’. De interoceptieve signalen worden onderdrukt of zijn niet gerepresenteerd (in het geval van vroegkinderlijk trauma). Hoewel er geen duidelijke relatie is gevonden tussen alexithymie en functioneel somatische klachten is de concrete beleving van lichamelijke signalen in de klinische praktijk een teken dat de integratie tussen affectieve, interoceptieve en mentaliserende vaardigheden tekortschiet.
