Samenvatting

In de literatuur anno 1980 werd gesteld dat patiënten met anafylactische reacties op insecten-gif idealiter levenslang zouden moeten worden behandeld om te voorkomen dat er zich bij volgende steken weer anafylactische reacties zouden voordoen. Tijdens de afgelopen 15 jaar zijn er door verschillende centra heel wat pogingen ondernomen objectieve criteria vast te leggen die het veilig stoppen van de onderhoudsimmunotherapie met bijen- of wespen-gif zouden moeten waarborgen. Uit de diverse onderzoeken wordt duidelijk dat ook hier weer de onvoorspelbaarheid van de reacties op insecten-gif het opstellen van algemeen geldende regels verhindert.
