Samenvatting

De prevalentie en het natuurlijk beloop van de nefropathie bij niet-insuline afhankelijke diabetes mellitus (NIADM) is veel minder goed gedefinieerd dan bij insuline-afhankelijke diabetes (IADM).
De cumulatieve incidentie varieert van 15 tot 60%, en wordt mede bepaald door etnische factoren.
