Inleiding

De grootste uitdaging in de restauratieve en implantologische tandheelkunde is alle verloren gegane harde en zachte weefsels zodanig te reconstrueren, hun functie te herstellen en esthetiek terug te brengen, dat het lijkt op een onbehandeld, gezond gebitselement met bijbehorende ondersteuning van bot en weke delen. De vormgeving, contour, oppervlaktestructuur en kleur van de gingiva zijn belangrijke factoren voor het uiteindelijke uiterlijk van de restauratie.
