Klachten zonder aantoonbare oorzaak worden aangeduid als olk of somatoforme klachten. Deze naamgeving is misleidend, omdat ze slechts het negatieve aspect omschrijft: het ontbreken van ziekte in orgaansystemen (spieren, darmen, hart etc.). Er verschijnen immers steeds meer medische verklaringen waarbij neurale, endocriene en immunologische ontregelingen aanknopingspunten bieden voor een positieve benadering van dit belangrijke klinische probleem. …
