Effecten van interventies ten aanzien van ongeoorloofd schoolverzuim onderzocht

Samenvatting

Het Vlaamse onderwijsbeleid investeerde de laatste jaren sterk in maatregelen gericht op het bestrijden van ongeoorloofde afwezigheid (het zonder geldige reden verzuimen van lestijd of onderwijsactiviteiten). Dat gebeurt tegen een achtergrond waarbij ondanks alle genomen maatregelen het aantal geregistreerde ongeoorloofde gevallen van afwezigheid jaar na jaar hoog blijft of zelfs toeneemt. De vraag dringt zich dan ook op langs welke weg het Vlaams beleid rond (ongeoorloofd) schoolverzuim zich verder kan optimaliseren. In deze bijdrage trachten we vat te krijgen op die problematiek door ongeoorloofd schoolverzuim te interpreteren vanuit het schoolbindingsperspectief. We steunen daarbij op de resultaten van een literatuuronderzoek dat de effecten van interventies ten aanzien van ongeoorloofd schoolverzuim in 33 wetenschappelijke publicaties onderzocht. Deze data werden aangevuld met een enquête onder experts.
