18. Herstelgericht ondersteunen van het dagelijks functioneren

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk geeft een overzicht van hedendaagse benaderingen die het herstel van mensen met EPA ondersteunen. De bijzonder uitdagende en diverse behoeften van deze groep vragen adequaat opgeleide hulpverleners die in staat zijn effectieve en op het individu af te stemmen interventies te gebruiken. Hulpverleners moeten het leuk en interessant vinden om lange tijd samen te werken met cliënten. Ze moeten tijd en energie steken in het opbouwen van herstelbevorderende relaties, die de weg vrijmaken voor het aanbieden en gebruiken van deze interventies. Hierin is een zeker therapeutisch optimisme cruciaal, omdat voor veel mensen de hoop op herstel in de loop der jaren is afgenomen en soms zelfs helemaal verdwenen. Om een dergelijke herstelgerichte aanpak te kunnen bieden in de langdurende geestelijke gezondheidszorg, kunnen hulpverleners baat hebben bij kaders zoals ‘ART’ om deze focus te behouden en centraal te stellen in de planning van collaboratieve zorg.
