Wim Trijsburg als psychotherapeut (II). Bij de dood van een psychotherapeut

Samenvatting

Religie heeft eeuwenlang het zicht op de dood bepaald. Maar kan de dood ook, zoals Winnicott (1958) met betrekking tot de ontwikkeling van het kind heeft beschreven, beschouwd worden als het betreden van de transitionele ruimte? Kan ik de dood van Wim Trijsburg, met wie ik tot kort voor zijn overlijden in gesprek was, in dit perspectief plaatsen? Kan het gesprek voor mij wel doorgaan nu de ander er niet meer is, Wims luisterend oor en zijn interpreterende blik ontbreken, er geen reactie meer komt op mijn uitspraken die om zijn duiding vragen? Nu er geen ritueel meer is om oude verhalen op te diepen, de hechting van vroeger opnieuw te beleven en het uitzicht op ontwikkeling en bevrijding van oude banden en angsten is afgebroken? Het ritueel dat begon met aanbellen, een hand geven en gaan zitten.
