Hemofilie: een bloedstollingsstoornis met gevolgen voor de voet en enkel

Samenvatting

Hemofilie is een bloedstollingsstoornis met een orthopedisch gevolg. Dankzij de internationale richtlijn is oorzaak, gevolg en behandeling van deze zeldzame ziekte overzichtelijk en up-to-date. Bloedingen in het enkelgewricht komen vaak voor bij hemofilie op jonge leeftijd. Patiënten die in het verleden niet adequaat zijn behandeld, hebben daarbij soms een spitsstand van de voet ontwikkeld. Het is belangrijk dat patiënten met hemofilie in beweging blijven binnen de grenzen van de belastbaarheid. Wat kan de paramedicus bijdragen, zodat deze patiënten meer en langer kunnen blijven lopen?
