Hechtingsstijlen bij complexe PTSS

Een exploratieve studie

Samenvatting

Het is aannemelijk dat veranderingen in hechtingsstijl, de wijze waarop patiënten gehecht zijn, raken aan onderliggende mechanismen die belangrijk zijn voor een succesvolle psychologische behandeling. In deze exploratieve studie zijn de hechtingsstijlen van patiënten met complexe posttraumatische stressstoornis (PTSS) onderzocht. Daarnaast is onderzocht of er bij deze groep veranderingen optreden in hechtingsstijl, PTSS-klachten en dissociatieve klachten na het volgen van een stabilisatiecursus voorafgaand aan de therapiefase waarin traumaverwerking centraal staat. De deelnemers aan het onderzoek vulden voor en na de stabilisatiecursus vragenlijsten in die hechtingsstijl en psychische klachten in kaart brengen. Uit de resultaten blijkt dat patiënten met complexe PTSS onveilig gehecht waren en dat daarin weinig veranderd was na het volgen van de stabilisatiecursus. Er werd geen significante en klinisch relevante afname in klachtenniveau gevonden. Dit geldt zowel voor PTSS-klachten als voor dissociatieve klachten. De studie draagt bij aan de huidige discussie over al dan niet stabiliseren bij complexe PTSS.
