Samenvatting

Regelmatige fysieke activiteit leidt tot fysiologische cardiale aanpassingen, die worden samengevat als het ‘sporthart’ of ‘atletenhart’. Deze aanpassingen, die zowel op structureel en functioneel als op elektrisch niveau ontstaan, zijn soms echter moeilijk te onderscheiden van onderliggende hartziekten. In dit hoofdstuk worden de veranderingen van een sporthart beschreven en de elementen die kunnen helpen bij de differentiatie met pathologische aandoeningen.
