In dit artikel zal eerst worden besproken hoe handvoorkeur kan worden gemeten en in hoeverre handvoorkeur gerelateerd is aan taaldominantie. Vervolgens worden de verschillende theorieën over de oorzaak van handvoorkeur behandeld. Ten slotte zal aan de hand van recente ontwikkelingen in het lateralisatie-onderzoek een formule worden gepresenteerd waarmee per individu de kans op taaldominantie van de rechterhersenhelft kan worden berekend met behulp van handvoorkeur. …
