Samenvatting

Groepstherapie voor afasiepatiënten wordt in Nederland al even lang toegepast als individuele therapie, maar beide soorten therapie verschillen van elkaar in doelstelling. Kearns (1994) geeft een overzicht van groepstherapie dat nog grotendeels geldig is. Groepstherapie kan worden ingedeeld in directe taaltraining (stoornisgericht, hooggestructureerd) (Holland, 1970), indirecte taaltraining (conversatie of rollenspel, ongestructureerd) (Davis, 1983), sociolinguïstische training (functionele communicatie, bijv. pace) (Davis & Wilcox, 1981) en transfer en onderhoud.
