Adoptiesensitieve ouderbegeleiding

Samenvatting

Adoptiesensitieve ouderbegeleiding vormt een belangrijk onderdeel van het hulpverleningstraject voor adoptiekinderen met ernstige gedrags- en emotionele problemen. Uitgangspunt is dat wordt ingezet op erkenning en ondersteuning van het complexe en bijzondere ouderschap waarvoor adoptieouders gesteld worden. Daarbij wordt in gesprekken expliciet voor een mentaliserende focus gekozen en wordt samen gezocht naar de betekenis van en het hanteren van het moeilijke gedrag van het kind. Zowel reflectie als veerkracht wordt zo versterkt, terwijl ook psycho-educatie hierbij een hulpmiddel kan zijn. Adoptiespecifieke thema’s, zoals verlies en verworven ouderschap, komen gedurende de begeleiding aan bod, voor zover ze het ouderschap kleuren en soms ook in de weg staan.
