Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk gaat over gezondheid en over de nieuwe kijk op gezondheid en de gezondheidszorg. De paradigmaverschuiving van ziekte en zorg naar gezondheid, gedrag en maatschappij is zowel voor ergotherapeuten als voor andere professionals een belangrijke transitie. Als je kijkt naar gezondheid gaat het erom dat mensen ondanks de uitdagingen in het leven, de eigen regie kunnen voeren en het eigen leven kunnen managen. Daarbij gaat het om deel te kunnen (blijven) nemen aan de activiteiten die voor een persoon van betekenis zijn, het participeren in het dagelijks en maatschappelijk leven. Daarnaast is het ervaren van welzijn belangrijk en dit staat in relatie tot de ervaren (positieve) gezondheid en kwaliteit van leven. Dit zijn allemaal begrippen en informatie die in dit hoofdstuk aan bod komen.
