Samenvatting

Visies op gezondheid zijn de medische visie, de biologische visie, de psychologische visie, de sociale visie en de dynamische visie, waaronder het begrip positieve gezondheid valt. De International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health wordt gebruikt als een planningsinstrument voor het nemen van beslissingen in de gezondheidszorg. Voor paramedici is inzicht in de gezondheidstoestand van de bevolking onontbeerlijk voor zowel preventie als gerichte zorgverlening. Het doel van epidemiologisch onderzoek is een relatie aan te tonen tussen het gezondheidsprobleem en bepaalde verschijnselen. Gezondheidsindicatoren geven cijfermatig inzicht in het niveau van gezondheid en ziekte onder de bevolking. Multimorbiditeit heeft waarschijnlijk een extra negatief effect op de kwaliteit van leven. Veel gezondheidsproblemen houden verband met de sociaaleconomische status.
