Samenvatting

Het fundament van de moderne genetica werd halverwege de negentiende eeuw gelegd door het werk van de Augustijner monnik Gregor Mendel die op basis van zijn beroemd geworden experimenten met erwtenplanten de eerste wetten van erfelijkheid heeft beschreven.
