21. ‘Generalistische’ behandelingen voor persoonlijkheidsstoornissen: common features en factors

Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk staan we stil bij generalistische behandelingen. We beschrijven de rationale achter deze beweging en identificeren de verschillende ‘common features’ van bewezen effectieve behandelingen. Dit legt de basis voor een kader van competenties, behandelprincipes en klinische processen voor een ‘voldoende goede’ behandeling voor mensen met (borderline)persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. In de laatste paragraaf wordt het Nederlandse initiatief uiteengezet. Goed om vooraf op te merken is, dat al deze behandelingen betrekking hebben op mensen met een borderlinepersoonlijkheidsstoornis. Naar onze mening is deze groep vooral representatief voor de behandeling van mensen met ernstige persoonlijkheidsproblemen en zijn de principes doorgaans breder toepasbaar dan alleen in de behandeling van BPS.
