Geen decongestiva bij kinderen met oorontsteking

Samenvatting

Decongestiva zijn onnodig bij kinderen met otitis media met effusie (OME). De NHG-Standaard Otitis media met effusie bij kinderen stelde eerder al dat het middel geen toegevoegde waarde heeft en waarschuwde voor bijwerkingen. Recent onderzoek bevestigt dat decongestiva weinig effect hebben, maar toont ook aan dat bewijs voor ernstige bijwerkingen ontbreekt.
