Samenvatting

Bij reflux is er terugvloed van maaginhoud in de slokdarm, met of zonder regurgitatie en spugen. Indien dit gepaard gaat zonder klachten, wordt gesproken van gastro-oesofageale reflux (GOR). Van gastro-oesofageale refluxziekte (GERZ) wordt gesproken als de GOR leidt tot hinderlijke klachten of complicaties bij de zuigeling, zoals prikkelbaar gedrag, voedselweigering, groeivertraging, het opgeven van bloedsliertjes, slaapproblemen of apparent life-threatening events.
