7 Fysieke training bij astma

Samenvatting

Voor patiënten met astma worden frequent fysieke trainingsprogramma’s opgesteld met als voornaamste doelstelling het verhogen van fysieke fitheid, neuromusculaire coördinatie en zelfvertrouwen. In dit artikel bekijken we de effectiviteit van fysieke training bij astma. Hiervoor zijn artikelen gezocht via het Cochrane Airways Group Specialised Register, SportDiscus en de Science Citation Index. Vijftien studies werden geïncludeerd in deze review. Uit deze review blijkt dat fysieke training geen effect heeft op rustlongfunctie en het aantal dagen wheezing. Deze factoren bleven echter stabiel en verergerden niet. Inspanningstraining verhoogde wel de cardiopulmonale fitheid en de kwaliteit van leven.
