Samenvatting

In dit katern worden stoornissen in de spraakproductie behandeld, die te verklaren zijn vanuit een afwijkende ontwikkeling van de regelkennis en toepassing van de fonologie of vanuit een stoornis in de articulatorische planning.

Dit kan zich ook manifesteren in het fenomeen: ‘groping’: zoekende articulatie-bewegingen. Een voorbeeld in van groping in een complex woord is: ‘k oe k oe s kl .. s kl .. s ll o k’, waarbij het kind kennelijk wel de juiste spraakklanken heeft geselecteerd, maar grote moeite heeft de overgangsbewegingen van klank naar klan te maken. Andere voorbeelden: ‘s.p.kapso - spak.sto’ voor ‘kapstok’ of ‘spiktich u - spitspot’ voor ‘prikstok

Beide typen spraakafwijkingen komen frequent voor bij SOD. Het eerste type zijn substituties: klankvervangingen. De veronderstelling is, dat tijden het proces van fonologisch coderen een foutieve klank is geselecteerd. Deze is vervolgens articulo-motorisch correct gerealiseerd. Het tweede type afwijkingen zijn distorsies: afwijkende articulo-motorische realisaties van correct geselecteerde fonemen. Lamers e.a. (Lamers, Maassen, & Thoonen, 1992) vonden dat de verdeling van voice-onset time (vot) in plofklanken uitgesproken door kinderen met sod grotere variantie vertoonden, dan de overeenkomstige vot’s van normaal sprekende kinderen. Er leek evidentie voor beide typen afwijkingen: foutief geselecteerde plofklanken en ‘slordig’ uitgesproken plofklanken.
