13. Feedback en gecomputeriseerde beslissingsondersteuning

Samenvatting

Feedback staat voor het teruggeven van informatie over het eigen handelen aan een zorgverlener, praktijk of instelling teneinde het inzicht in het eigen handelen te vergroten. Bij feedback wordt informatie teruggekoppeld aan een individuele zorgverlener of aan een praktijk, team of instelling. Beslissingsondersteuning via computersystemen wordt in dit hoofdstuk aangeduid met de Engelstalige afkorting CDSS (computerised decision support systems). Herinneringen (reminders) zijn een specifieke variant van beslissingsondersteuning. De term reminder staat in dit hoofdstuk voor informatie die is ontworpen om een zorgverlener aan een bepaalde aanbeveling voor goede zorg te herinneren. De effectiviteit van feedback en beslissingsondersteuning blijkt wisselend te zijn. Voordat dergelijke implementatiestrategieën grootschalig worden toegepast, zal vervolgonderzoek gedetailleerder moeten ingaan op de determinanten van succes of falen en op de kosteneffectiviteit. Factoren die invloed hebben op de effectiviteit van feedback en beslissingsondersteuning zijn motivatie van de ontvanger, timing en frequentie van feedback of reminders, bron en boodschapper, actief/passief karakter, vergelijking met anderen en nabijheid tot het beslismoment.
