Executieve disfuncties bij patiënten met de ziekte van Parkinson: een aantal nieuwe perspectieven

Samenvatting

De ziekte van Parkinson is een progressieve neurodegeneratieve aandoening die wordt gekenmerkt door beperkingen in het executief functioneren. Het executief functioneren speelt een belangrijke rol bij de regulatie van cognitie, emotie en gedrag, en hoewel al veel bekend is over de executieve disfuncties van patiënten met de ziekte van Parkinson, is verdere exploratie noodzakelijk. Het huidige artikel beschrijft drie studies die zich richten op: (1) wat wordt gemeten met Verbale Fluency Tests (VFT’s) bij patiënten met de ziekte van Parkinson, (2) het meten van het executief functioneren in het dagelijks leven van Parkinson-patiënten en (3) in hoeverre Parkinson-patiënten zich bewust zijn van en inzicht hebben in hun executieve disfuncties.
