Samenvatting

In de klinische geneeskunde gelden de randomized clinical trial (RCT) en systematische review van RCT’s als de krachtigste bronnen van evidence. De in Nederland veel gebruikte EBRO-criteria geven de meeste bewijskracht aan een meta-analyse (of systematische review), vervolgens een RCT van goede kwaliteit, een RCT van mindere kwaliteit, niet-vergelijkend onderzoek en ten slotte de mening van deskundigen. In richtlijnen wordt op basis van deze evidence adviezen gegeven.
