19. Effecten van fijn- en grofmotorische bewegingen op agressie of op de gevolgen ervan

Een review vanuit een praktijk- en ervaringsperspectief

Samenvatting

In de dagelijkse praktijk van de fysiotherapeut wordt veel gebruikgemaakt van bewegingsvormen als preventie- en behandelingsmiddel bij patiënten met een agressieprobleem. Niet elke bewegingsvorm leidt tot een reductie van agressie, sommige leiden zelfs tot meer agressie. Kennis van de onderliggende relaties is daarom essentieel om een juiste keuze te kunnen maken in de praktijk. In dit hoofdstuk wordt een overzicht gegeven van de wetenschappelijke onderbouwing die er is voor het gebruik van specifieke bewegingsvormen. Er werden 57 wetenschappelijke artikelen geselecteerd omtrent bewegingsvormen bij agressie. De artikelen leggen de link tussen fijnmotorische en grofmotorische bewegingen en agressie. Het blijkt dat kunsttherapie, ademhalingsrelaxatie, snoezelen, massage, recreatieve bewegingsvormen en oosterse vechtsporten waarvoor veel discipline nodig is, een positieve invloed hebben op agressie, terwijl realistische gewelddadige games, boksen en in mindere mate judo, agressieverhogend kunnen werken.
