Een hoekstabiele plaat als fixateur-externe bij een gecompliceerde humerusschachtfractuur

Samenvatting

Deze casus betreft een alternatieve behandeling van een gecompliceerde humerusschachtfractuur. Primair werd er gekozen voor conservatieve behandeling, maar de secundaire huidperforatie leidde tot indicatie voor operatieve fixatie. Wij kozen voor een hoekstabiele plaat (LCP-systeem, Synthes) als externe fixateur. Volledige consolidatie werd bereikt na zes maanden, met een volledige pijnloze functie van de bovenarm en schouder.
